GNIA is an international collaboration of investor-led organisations with a common interest in promoting shareholder rights and responsibilities.

The ICGN established the GNIA in 2013 to enable national investor associations to share priorities around corporate governance, shareholder rights and responsibilities beyond local jurisdictions to an international audience thereby contributing to global reform efforts. Currently co-chaired by the Council of Institutional Investors (CII) and ICGN, members are drawn from Australia, Brazil, Canada, the European Union, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Malaysia, the Netherlands, UK and the USA.
